Cutting Both Ways

This album consists of two aspects my compositional output. The first includes the four songs I recorded with my band IN CAHOOTS, and the second is the two pieces I recorded in collaboration avec Dave Stewart. IN CAHOOTS has toured Europe extensively over the past two-years. This is largely due to the live-in studio approach. This contrasts with two pieces that were recorded with Dave Stewart. This track is multi-tracking and uses the most recent music technology

Legacy of Phil Miller It would be wrong to keep him from the public eye in his youth. He was constantly pushing himself to discover new directions. Yao’s collaboration with Absolute Zero is a dissonant and experimental band that shows this. He was an artist who explored the world, and not for fame, wealth, or acceptance. Although not as radical as Fred Frith and Derek Bailey, he was more explorative than many of his contemporaries. He saw music as an adventure. The legacy of Mr. Miller includes passion, humor, taste and intelligence, as well as grace and intelligence. This shows that musical adventures and creativity do not have to be expressed in a rush of notes. But that exploring and probing the landscape is what will lead to the answers. We need more people like him, especially in the guitar community.
